Ten years ago we found ourselves at university living quite literally next door to each other - and we quickly became known as the two dudes that would skateboard our way across the university campus with our cameras in hand as we captured whatever looked and felt cool to us. 🛹📹
One night in the very very early hours of the morning, we decided to sign up for a half marathon with absolutely no training and that was despite the race being two weeks away. 🤪
After that late night epiphany we got ourselves into gear, and ran daily, ate cleanly and challenged ourselves and each other even while balancing the responsibilities of academic work and of course our social responsibilities too. 😉
It was through this endeavour we realised that we could challenge ourselves and each other to become something more, and through this we decided instead of filming stuff by ourselves - why not team up? 🤜🤛
This thought led us into an insane trajectory where within a mere matter of months we were filming worldwide artists such as Annie Mac and massive festivals too across the UK, armed perhaps with not the most technical knowledge at the time, but definitely armed with the most passion to develop our creative possibilities as well as the hunger to connect with different people and explore the world. 🌏
Through this journey we filmed music festivals across the UK and Europe, restaurant commercials featuring international rugby stars, with the pinnacle of this rapid ascent - our selection by Red Bull to film a worldwide challenge across Europe. It was this trip in particular that revealed our real characters and what we were made of. 💪
Red Bull gave us a rather simple task. Film ourselves with no food, no water, no accommodation, no money, no mobile phones and no transport as we had to travel across the breadth of Europe within one week. Wait what?? 😱
Red Bull gave us a 24 pack of cans at each major capital city, and all we were equipped with was the ability to charm and barter our way from Berlin to Austria, to Switzerland and then to France. Some days we lived like kings, as the kindness from strangers led to us staying in their homes and partying in exclusive festivals. However, the real test of our characters were the days where we had to sleep rough in abandoned car parks on the border between Switzerland and France, attempting to hitchhike in rain so heavy that we couldn't even get more drenched, and attempting to sleep on the pavements of Paris even while rats scurried around us. 🗼🐀
But through this journey, we realised that we were more than just friends, we are brothers in life who are on the same path of exploring all the beauties that life has to offer and connecting with people across all creeds, while using our passion of filmmaking to bring these stories to those willing to watch. 🏞️ 🎥
It was from this trip that Undivided Attention was born.
A decade later, and we have built a video production company that has filmed with worldwide brands, using top quality equipment and most importantly - always embracing that young hunger of a decade ago - having the passion to develop our skills daily, explore the world and meet new people as we bring their stories and dreams to life through video! - That's the UA way. 👊
